Photography Trek Helvellyn
Make a Lake District fully guided mountain summit walk an even more thrilling experience as we are accompanied by one of the UK's best mountain landscape photographers, Stewart Smith. Stewart will be sharing his experiences of life on the Lakeland fell tops and also sharing his photography skills to help you capture stunning and breathtaking scenery with your camera.
Sunday, walk up to Easdale Tarn, possibility of photographing frozen waterfalls, also walk in a steep side valley in fantastic winter colours.
As Stewart says: 'For the winter course I think something on Helvellyn would be a good option, as it usually gets more snow than pretty much all the other hills, and you can make it an easy (non technical) walk if you go up from Thirlmere side. Throwing in Dollywagon and Nethermost Pikes would make it a fairly full day out, and give you a variety of things to shoot. By hanging around until dusk (ie about half 3 mid winter), you can often be guaranteed the summit to yourself, which may be a selling point for those that have only ever done it in daytime in summer when it's like Ikea.
Summary Itinerary
- Day 1 - Check in available from 2pm. Refreshments on arrival. Welcome evening at 8.30
- Day 2 - Helvellyn mountan walk
- Day 3 - Departure Day. Easdale Tarn walk. The weekend will finish between 4-5pm
